We are happy to report that even in 2020, new restaurants in Denver are opening up and ready for hungry customers. Whether you prefer dining in or takeout, most restaurants accommodate both, and trying new spots is a great way to keep Denver neighborhoods unique and tasty!

As much as the pandemic has presented new challenges in running a restaurant, it has also presented new opportunities. Across Denver and Colorado, restaurants have re-worked their dining spaces and safety procedures, built special takeout menus, planned for intimate events, and found ways to hustle their flavors to the general public. Take a look at new restaurants in Denver and upcoming food events.

It’s Fall Restaurant Week In Denver!

Next week, Nov 13-22nd, is Denver’s very first fall restaurant week. The takeout levels will be higher, naturally, but it’s a chance to try new menus at a very reasonable price point from all around the Denver/Boulder area. New restaurants in Denver and their established counterparts are bringing their most exquisite meals and experiences to the table.

With three different menu price options, $25, $35, $45, you can pick your price and your restaurant menu. If you prefer takeout, pick up a complete meal for a date, or the whole family. Using Visit Denver’s website, you can even search by area and type of cuisine to get exactly what you’re looking for. Take a look at their website, and plan a meal!

New Restaurants In Denver

Acknowledging the hurdles of a year like 2020 for many restaurant owners, we are thrilled to see new chefs and restaurant ideas come to life. When business have the opportunity to launch new concepts, it’s a sign of a strong local economy, and we are here for it. Take a look at our list of new restaurants in Denver that have opened this year:

The Fifth String

When Justin Brunson’s new meat company, River Bear Meats, took off during the COVID-19 shutdown, he decided it was time to sell his long-standing wine, charcuterie, and butchery, Old Major. Though it will be missed by those in the Highland neighborhood, the building’s re-opening as the Fifth String breathes new life into this location. Amos Watts, a friend of Brunson’s, bought the building this year to create a new concept restaurant with vibrant small plates featuring local ingredients, delicious pastas, and other hearty meals on the menu. Stocked with an eclectic wine collection, it’s certainly worth a try. Make a reservation or order takeout on their website here.

My Neighbor Felix

Start off your visit to My Neighbor Felix with a signature, hand crafted Mexican cocktail and a round of their salsa trio and chips for the table. Located in the LoHi neighborhood, this new restaurant in Denver combines the culinary flavors of all seven regions of Mexico. Set up perfectly for COVID-friendly dining, outdoor heaters and all, you can book a table or takeout a colorful, authentic meal. Take a look at their menu here.

Mazevo

Khagendra Gurung, also known as KG, owns nine local restaurants in Colorado with his family members. The list now includes the new Mazevo on Tennyson, designed with pandemic restrictions in mind to create a comfortable, safe experience for all its guests. KG chose to go with a Mediterranean style of cuisine to offer a healthy, fresh option for those living in the area. Meaning “to gather” in Greek, Mazevo offers a welcoming space for people to spend time, and reconnect. Dive into their affordable menu options, from a hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, marinated olives, tabbouleh and warm pita plate, to the chicken shawarma that’s been marinated in a harissa-yogurt sauce and is served with garlic aioli. You can find out more about Mazevo here.

Junction Food & Drink

A new food hall located on South Colorado Blvd, Junction Food & Drink is home to eight new restaurants and choices for dining there, delivery, or pickup options. Soon to be joined by even more choices, this “chef-driven” food hall features dishes from local and national chefs. Whether you order online or come check out the action, you won’t be disappointed by this charming new spot. Learn more about Junction Food Hall here.

Slaters 50/50

Social media famous for their towering milkshake creations, Slaters 50/50 opened a new location in Denver this year. Located downtown, they have classic burgers, but also a varied menu with healthy options to balance out that dessert. If you’re feeling indulgent, try their “Golden Nugget” tots, topped with bacon, beer cheese, hatch chili batons, and a bourbon drizzle… wow. Reserve a table or order pickup.

The perseverance and creativity of chefs and restaurants owners during this time is incredible, and worthy of support. And the menus just make us want to go out for a bite!
