Rooftop Bar Denver: Scoping Out The Scene For The Best Mile High Views

Written by Bailey Crumpton | Oct 15, 2019 6:00:47 AM

One thing we can all agree on - it’s pretty hard to beat happy hour with a view. Across Denver’s vibrant neighborhoods are dozens of awesome venues that not only showcase the stunning Colorado mountain tops but also foster community. In this post, we’re featuring the best rooftop bars Denver has to offer.

You’ll find that many bars host industry networking events to help professionals make connections with one another. These are also awesome spots for a night out with your friends. With many residents moving to the city with little to no connections, it’s always great to have spots where you can meet like-minded people. And with nearly 300 days of sunshine and mild temps year-round, there’s more time than ever to enjoy the outdoors.

Our team, for example, loves to sit on the rooftop of Battery621, our coworking space, and watch the sunset dip over the mountain peaks during the First Friday parties. If you’re considering a move to our neck of the woods, here are some of the rooftop bar Denver has to offer for your enjoyment.

4 Hip Spots to Check Out

54Thirty

Neighborhood: Central Business District

The Scene: Probably one of the most popular rooftops in Denver, 54thirty is the area’s highest open-air bar located on top of the Le Méridien Denver Downtown. Serving up craft cocktails and globally-inspired bites, the views here are breathtaking. With recent updates, the space now features two private cabanas, a DJ booth, a new roof system that allows you to chill even during the rain showers, and improved fire pits. It’s a great spot for a happy hour with co-workers or a night on the town.

Events: Every Thursday, a local DJ is spinning the beats. They also host seasonal dance parties.

The Woods

Neighborhood: RiNo

The Scene: Let’s not forget what RiNo has to offer. Located on top of the new Source Hotel, this full-service rooftop restaurant, bar, and beer garden is complete with two fireplaces, indoor and outdoor seating for you and your crew to sit back and relax while enjoying craft cocktails, 45 beers on tap and some of your favorite bites. Clearly, if you are a New Belgium and views for days fan, this place is definitely for you.

Events: The Woods offers Monday-Friday happy hour from 4:00PM-6:00PM and one of Denver's best brunches on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00AM-3:00PM.

Linger

Neighborhood: Highlands

The Scene: Street food fans, Linger is your spot. This hip environment serves up awesome eats and craft cocktails out of a RV-turned-bar that sits atop the restaurant. They also serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays all summer long with delicious mimosas. Linger is a great option for a casual afternoon hang or chill night out.

Events: Linger has happy hour Monday through Friday from 4-6:30 pm. You can also host private events with them, so definitely take this into consideration if your future company is looking for a venue.

Jax Fish House and Oyster Bar

Neighborhood: Glendale

The Scene: Definitely a mainstay in Colorado, Jax has four locations serving up sustainable seafood. But if you’re in the burbs, the Glendale location boasts the most gorgeous views. Take in the sunset over the mountain tops while enjoying their full menu including happy hour favorites like kimchi fish cake sliders and peel 'n' eat shrimp.

Events: Jax has ongoing specials, regular events like Crab Boils and Monday happy hours $1.50 oysters and cheap cocktails.

As you can see, the rooftop bar Denver scene is thriving and this is only a handful of great spots. In addition to the views, we also have plenty of craft beer joints and an amazing food scene. There’s seriously something for everyone here and plenty of opportunities to find a high-paying career that will nurture you for growth.
