Denver’s unique culture is not just limited to what happens outside of 9 to 5, it encompasses what life is like within it as well. Similar to Denver’s social culture, the Mile High City has its own unique work culture and as most people who live in Denver will tell you, it makes living and working here – just better.  It consists of:

1.       A Casual Attire Atmosphere

There are exceptions to every rule, but typically when a Denver-ite sees a man or a woman walking down the street in a business suit we automatically know one of two things about them:

  1. they have either just moved here or
  2. they are visiting

In Denver, you don’t see a lot of suits, ties and formal business attire. We are much more of the casual dress folks. While every business has their own dress code, in most Denver companies you will find blue jeans to be the norm from the CEO on down.

2.       An Environment of Complete not Compete

We know they are out there – the cutthroat cities, communities and cultures; the places that look out for one thing and one thing only – numero uno. This, however, is not at all the case in Denver. The Mile High City is an environment of collaboration not competition. As one of our agents summed it up, "My peers sharpen me instead of compete with me. We have a strong, encouraging team where everyone wants to see the other succeed."

3.       A Real Work / Life Balance

Businesses that want to keep their Denver employees happy know that people did not just move here for a job. Instead they know people moved here to enjoy the mountains, the rivers, the music scene, the art scene, the sunny blue skies and their personal interests and lives. This is why creating real work / life balance is an utmost priority to Denver’s businesses.

4.       A Talented and Educated Workforce

The Mile High City does not just attract the thrill seekers, the mountain lovers and the snow snobs; it also appeals to the most talented and educated individuals in the country who are looking for a place to grow their career amongst major brands, amazing start ups and cutting edge creative shops.

5.       Focus on Fun

You will notice the difference the second you walk into many businesses in Denver and that difference is an element of fun. Denver businesses do not just keep the spirit of their companies fun because that is what they *should* do; they do it because that is what they want to do.

6.       Crazy Great  Benefits

Similar to companies understanding the importance of work / life balance, Denver companies keep their employees happy with some extremely stellar benefits. Just a few of these benefits include: unlimited vacation, paid vacation (as in they pay FOR your vacation), nap rooms, flex time, ski passes, mandatory powder days, etc. etc. etc.
